POLICIES
Missed lessons:
- No refunds or credits will be given out for missed lessons much the same as for dance, swimming and other types of lessons. Tuition payment reserves the student's lesson time each week and contributes to lesson preparation done by tutors.
Payments:
- Payment of term fees is due the first day of term. Late fees of 10% will be charged fortnightly after this date. Payment plans are available.
- Students with unpaid invoices will not be permitted to start lessons for the term and their lesson time will be forfeit.
Behaviour:
- Students are to respect the space, the tutors, fellow students, and instruments. Students creating disruption may be asked to leave the lesson after warnings given. Please supervise young children in the foyer area.
Tutor Absence:
- In cases where a tutor cannot attend, a substitute tutor will teach the lesson.
- In cases where a substitute tutor cannot be assigned, the lesson will be rescheduled, if it is possible based on student and teacher availability; or credited towards the following term.
Withdrawal from lessons:
- Students wanting to withdraw from lessons at the Academy must give 4 weeks notice. Refunds of the current term's fee will not be available.
Materials and lesson books:
- Most lessons require the purchase of curriculum books. These are supplied via the Academy and will be charged either each term or when the student is ready to move onto the next book. We aim to keep these costs as low as possible by buying in bulk and passing on the savings to our students.
Photos and Videos:
- We may from time to time take photos of a lesson or video. These may be used in our advertising, social media, newsletters, and to help students celebrate their achievements. First names may be used but no other identifying information. Please advise us in writing via email if you do not wish your child/ren to be filmed. (info@marlboroughacademyofmusic.com)
Emergencies and Medical:
- In case of a medical emergency, a tutor may call an ambulance if it is deemed necessary. The responsibility of costs incurred are that of the parent/guardian. We will always endeavour to make contact with parents/guardians first.
- If your child has any medical circumstances that we need to be aware of including but not limited to: Asthma, Mental Health difficulties, Allergies, Heart condition, Hearing or sight difficulties, please let us know in writing via email. (info@marlboroughacademyofmusic.com)
